We believe...
The Bible is God's owners manual for us to live by.We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired by God, and is without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and life.
Psalm 119:89; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:11; 2Timothy 2:15, 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:21
God is awesome, creator of the universe yet nearer than you think!
We believe in God the Father, the creator of heaven and earth, an infinite personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in human affairs, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and eternal death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. As the Bible teaches, there is one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each possessing all the attributes of Deity.
Genesis 1:1, 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 6:9-13; John 3:16, 4:24, 5:26, 17:11, 17:25; Romans 8:33; Philippians 2:6
Jesus Christ is God with skin on.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth and paid for our sin by willingly dying on the cross as our substitute. Jesus physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven where He continually intercedes for His people. Jesus will be back, personally and visibly.
Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:34-35; John 1:1, 3:16, 11:25; Acts 1:3, 1:9, 16:31; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5; Revelation 1:7
The Holy Spirit lives in and through us.
We believe the Holy Spirit pursues all people, drawing us to Jesus Christ by showing us the depth of our sin as well as what is right and true. The Spirit of God comes to live within each new Christ-follower, baptizing each when they put their faith in Christ. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts, empowers and equips followers of Jesus for personal growth and service to the church and the world.
John 2:27, 14:17, 16:8; Acts 5:1-4; Romans 8:1-17, 15:16; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Titus 3:5; 1 John 2:27
Humanity is separated from God by nature and choice.
We believe all people are created in the image of God and can freely choose to follow God or do their own thing. The first man and woman, Adam and Eve, chose to do their own thing, disobeying God's command. Since Adam's fall every person is alienated from God - a sinner by nature and choice. God is holy and cannot tolerate sin; therefore all people are under condemnation unable to save themselves.
Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 5:15; Matthew 5:16; Romans 3:23, 15:6; Revelation 4:11
Salvation is by grace alone.
We believe the gift of eternal life in heaven is extended to everyone who puts their hope and faith in God's grace through Jesus Christ; and in Him alone. The broken relationship between us and God is restored, and we become spiritually alive having hope for this life and all of eternity. We believe that Jesus died for humanity's sins as a representative and substitute sacrifice, that He is alive again having risen victorious from the grave on the third day, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood and given eternal life.
Isaiah 53; Matthew 20:18, 28:6; John 3:16; Romans 3:24-26, 5:1, 10:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 15:14; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 2:2
The Church lives to enjoy God, know God and display His love.
We believe every follower of Jesus Christ, regardless of race or nation, across the planet is part of the global church. We believe God directed His followers to gather together regularly with others in a local church for teaching, worship, growth, community and service.
Matthew 28:17-20; Acts 2:41-42; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31
Baptism is a celebration of a new-heart relationship w/Jesus.
We believe Jesus Christ directed His followers to baptize new believers in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as a sign of joining Christ in his death, burial and resurrection.
Matthew 28:17-20; Acts 8:26-40; Romans 6:3-8
Communion celebrates Jesus' life, death and resurrection.
Jesus taught his followers to intentionally celebrate His death on the cross through communion until He returns. We do this by sharing bread and wine (in our case grape juice) when we gather together for worship on a regular basis.
1 Corinthians 11:17-34
Last Things⦠He'll be back!
We believe Jesus will personally and visibly return to this planet to establish God's kingdom. Those that are physically dead when Jesus comes back will be raised up, and all will stand before the judgment seat each receiving God's justice - either eternal life or endless suffering.
